It has been a privilege to meet with so many people over the past few weeks, to talk about the services we provide at the I-70 Medical Center and Clinic. In this process, we have found that many people continue to have questions about some of our capabilities. I would like to provide the answers to some of the more common questions.

The I-70 Medical Clinic is a physician office providing a full range of family medical care. Dr. Charles Lea, Dr. William Brown and Mary Dolan, P.A. are here each weekday, to care for your routine medical needs. As your family doctor, they can cover everything from annual physicals to diagnosis and treatment of any medical problem. They will also work closely with any specialist you may now be seeing, to provide for your specialized medical needs.

While appointments are always recommended, you are welcome to walk-in anytime between 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Our clinic is located in the modular building immediately north of the hospital. In the future, our plans call for a permanent structure to be added to the north side of our hospital.

For more urgent needs, the I-70 Medical Center has a fully staffed Emergency Department, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Physicians and specially trained staff are always available to care for your needs. While we are prepared to care for traumas and very critical needs, most of our emergency care is not so dramatic. Lacerations, the pain of kidney stones, sprains, broken bones and other less serious problems make up the majority of our emergency treatments.

It is the diagnostic capabilities of the I-70 Medical Center that provides the convenience of care right here at home. When you are injured or in pain, we can diagnose the severity of your injury quickly at our facilities. Radiology can provide x-rays or CT scans, and the lab runs most of their diagnostic tests 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

When you stop by our clinic or emergency room, you will discover that most of your health care needs can be satisfied right here at our facility. We are also working to bring to our Medical Center, many of the specialists that you drive great distances to see. We know that your time and resources are valuable. Our goal is to conveniently provide medical services close to your work, your homes, and your community so you can spend your valuable time in more pleasurable pursuits than travel.

Ron Baker is the CEO of I-70 Medical Center, where he provides administrative oversight to all business, administrative and executive functions of the medical center. Ron came to us by way of Franklin Medical Center in Hampton Iowa where he was the previous CEO and provided leadership and guidance on developing a much needed Community Wellness Center located on the Franklin Medical Center Campus. Ron is an avid KU fan which is abundantly evident when speaking to him. He and his wife Ellie have a son living in Cincinnati Ohio, and a daughter living in Denver Colorado.
